Dear Surfer Blood,

I owe you an apology. About a year ago, someone sent me some of your music and you were neglected in my itunes library. My current interests got in the way and your songs went unplayed. You flew under my radar and for that: I am sorry.

But you don’t need me. The last two years have been good to you guys. I mean, a SXSW showcase, Pitchfork features and touring with Interpol? That’s the stuff dreams are made of.

I like your old-school Weezer feel in “Swim.” I can see the satirical Beastie Boys influence in your music videos. Surfer Blood always look like they’re having fun - which is an underrated attribute in musicians.

Honestly, I just wanted to let you know that ”Floating Vibes” hooked me from the start. The bass guitar is irresistible and the handclaps are a great touch with that danceable chorus.
