WHO’S LOVING YOU by The Jackson 5
On hitRECord, we don’t upload copyright material, because part of the whole idea is to have a professional creative community where everybody shares everything we make, offering it up for remixing, refining, reRECording. So when we do live shows, like we’ve been doing the last few days, we only play our own stuff. However, since a live show is a unique experience, in a unique time and place, with a unique set of people, I like to do one thing each night that’s NOT for the RECord. Usually it’s a cover song, like this one. Somebody always records it anyway, and even though we don’t allow it on hitRECord.org, I’m (usually) glad they did :)
Yesterday, I couldn’t think of which song to do. I had just done two cover songs for the two shows at the Vista Theatre in L.A., and then one at Stanford, and frankly, I just hadn’t thought about it. Jared suggested I do one of the songs I’ve done in the past, like You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman, or something. But I sorta like the challenge of doing a different one at each show, although I’m positive I’ll contradict myself on that point one of these days.
Anyway, “Remember The Time” (yeah Dangerous!) was on at the airport that morning, and Jared and Marke and I were talking about our love for the illustrious king of pop. So maybe that’s why, at the last minute, I thought of doing this one. By that time the show had already started, so I had to go over the chords quietly to myself during one of the movies. It’s sloppy, but what the fuck.
Thanks to @mrbnatural for recording it!
