Follow Up of the Day: Our long national nightmare is over: FOX announced this evening that it has renewed The Simpsons for two more seasons after reaching a salary reduction agreement with the show’s voice actors.
“Woo Hoo! I outlasted Andy Rooney!,” Homer Simpson was quoted by the network as saying.
No specific details were released, but according to Deadline, the actors withdrew their demand for a share of the show’s back-end profits in exchange for a smaller pay cut.
The Simpsons will resume its current season on Sunday, October 30th, following the conclusion of the World Series. If the show ends its historic run after the 25th season it will have amassed a total of 559 episodes.
