Casting News of the Day: The “big, giant search” is over: Amy Adams is Zack Snyder’s Lois Lane.
The three-time Oscar nominee will play opposite Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent in the Sucker Punch director’s December 2012 reboot, Superman: The Man of Steel.
“We did a lot of auditioning,” Snyder told the LA Times, “but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.” No further information was given as to the extent of the part, but Synder did comment enough to say that “the role is ‘a linchpin’ to the project.”
Other roles previously announced: Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane as his wife Martha.

Carson and I did this thing for McSweeney’s — “The Goods.” It’s a Rasputin paper doll set (somewhat inspired by our son, Hank, who is weirdly obsessed with the Mad Monk). I’m a little late on posting this and I can’t seem to find a larger image of it anywhere, but there you go. Rasputin paper dolls. In connection with McSweeney’s.
As you were.
“BOOM” is a wall mounted installation created by James Clar made of fluorescent tube lights with laser cut light filters. The action of the word as it starts focused on one end and explodes towards the other, visually represents the meaning of the word.

Google Voice is also introducing the “Voice-alyzer,” which “will prompt you to spell everyday words with your keypad, like ‘embarrassed’, ‘dizzy’ or ‘Czechoslovakia’,” before allowing you to phone your exes. Useful!
