Life-Altering Oreo-Dunking Utensil of the Day: Introducing The Dipr — a revolutionary sandwich-cookie-dunking tool that is somehow different enough from a common household fork to warrant a $10,000 Kickstarter funding request.

It Doesn’t Have to be Beautiful | Slow Club
This entire album has been the soundtrack to my last few days. Totally late to the game on this band, but thoroughly obsessed.

The Burns Archive
In this eerie photograph of a Cuban prison, inmate after inmate stands silhouetted in a semicircle of stacked cells. They are posed there, backlit, perhaps to demonstrate the buildings utilitarian design. First conceived by philosopher Jeremy Bentham in the 18th century, the so-called panopticon prison design allows a single guard to keep watch on hundreds of confined men while staying in an armored perch, out of the prisoner’s sight. The cells in the prison pictured here do not have doors, though presumably armed guards would have been a deterrent against any escape attempt. Many prisons, including Alcatraz, were designed to remove a convict’s privacy in favor of control, but full incorporations of Bentham’s idea are a rarer find.

Watch this child dance to “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence + The Machine. It’s so adorable. Why are babies listening and dancing to cool music lately? (the Bob Marley baby) I am so pleased.

Fences - “My Girl The Horse” (Featuring Sara Quin)
I love a song that begins with a fade-in every now and then. Not only does this track feature Sara Quin (one half of Tegan & Sara), but she also co-produced the band’s self-titled debut that was released this past September. Fences is Chris Mansfield, a Seattle native who sings his experiences through slightly mellow yet melodic indie folk. This album puts me strangely at ease.
The track “Girls With Accents” is another favorite. You can watch the video here.
Not gonna lie though, when I saw a press photo of this dude, I was surprised he was the voice behind this music. Seattle Weekly explains it perfectly - ”Like most people with face tattoos, Chris Mansfield exudes a certain unnerving sketchiness. At first glance he looks like the type of guy who would organize a GG Allin fan club or burn down a church. In person, Mansfield is quiet and slightly aloof but personable, which makes you feel like an asshole for thinking he’d burn down a church.”
