if you’ve studied art or been to fashion school, then you’ve no doubt seen tons of projects inspired by alice’s adventures in wonderland. i admit, one (or more) of my finals was based on alice and her adventures through the rabbit hole, simply because it gives you liberty to design whatever you like. alice is no doubt a free spirit, she was adventurous before her adventure and certainly wiser, stronger and bolder when she awoke. i think everybody imagines alice’s style as girly, imaginative and freeing. she’s not afraid of color (or much else as we learned in her story) and has no concern over what other people think. after all, her style icons are the mad hatter, that crazy rabbit and the hookah smoking caterpillar.

Human Interest Story of the Day: There’s a homeless man named Ted Williams roaming the streets of Columbus, OH, looking for his second chance. And, thanks to his “golden radio voice” and an anonymous listener who offered a morning talk show in Columbus $15,000 to hire him, he just might get it.

Amazing Discovery of the Day: Vivian Maier was an unassuming French-born amateur photographer who worked as a nanny in Chicago during the 50s and 60s. Two years prior to her death in 2009, a young real-estate agent stumbled upon thousands of her negatives at an estate sale, and purchased them for $400. 26-year-old John Maloof soon realized what he had actually paid for: The life’s work of one of the greatest street photographers the world never knew.
